Setiptiline is a tetracyclic antidepressant that acts as a noradrenergic and specific serotonergic antidepressant (NaSSA). It blocks α2-adrenoceptors and certain serotonin receptors (5-HT2, 5-HT3), enhancing both noradrenergic and serotonergic neurotransmission. It also has antihistaminergic properties.
